Dentures are oral prosthetics that restore any number of missing teeth. Partial dentures replace only a few teeth, while full dentures are used to replace an entire set of teeth. Both partial and full dentures require occasional repair. If a tooth falls out or becomes loose, be sure to see us as soon as possible to get them restored to perfection.

Dr. Engle is a native Arlington resident with over 30 years of experience in the dentistry field. He is experienced in repairing dentures and provides patients with the best care possible in a comfortable environment.

DENTURE RELINING

If you wear full dentures, relining them at regular intervals is critical to maintaining their fit and comfort. Over time, your jawbone will begin to realign and change shape. This can cause your dentures to loosen or shift. In addition to relining them, the dentist may also fit you for new dentures.

DENTURE REPAIRS AND FITTING

Whether dentures are broken or worn down, we offer same-day denture repairs. In some cases, patients may need to come in for a few visits to get their dentures back to their normal condition. Dentures typically last for around five years, following which they may need to be restored. Occasionally, they’ll need to be replaced entirely as well. You may need repairs if your dentures break, crack, or chip. They may break if you drop them on the floor, accidentally bite down too hard, or chew something hard such as nuts or popcorn kernels.

We can help repair your dentures and give you tips about how to care for them properly. You can talk to our dentist about any of the following services:

  • Repairing or restoring your denture
  • Adjusting the fit and comfort of your denture
  • Replacing your denture with a new set
  • Adding clips or attachments to your denture

CARE OF DENTURES

Dentures should be properly cared for and cleaned at regular intervals. They should also be checked by the dentist for damage and repairs as needed. It is advised to remove them every night before going to bed and store them in a glass of water to keep them moist and away from damage. Clean them with a denture cleaning solution before you put them back in your mouth every morning.

If you break your dentures, schedule an appointment with our dentist right away. Although they’re very durable, your dentures could endure damage due to accidental drops. If they’re not properly cared for, they can weaken over time and break more easily.
